With the digital camera carrying a heavy and bulky camera is history. At first I was afraid that a digital camera could not compete with a good traditional camera. But my fear was unfounded. I am very satisfied about the results.
My traditional camera is a Canon Eos 500 and it is lying unused in a corner. My digital one is a Olympus Camedia c-350. Only 3.2 mega pixel but it proved to be sufficient. And it has a handy protection of the lense which can be pushed aside. Of course the Canon EOS digital camera has caught my eye, but my budget does not allow a purchase. I think I can use the traditional lenses on a digital body so this will reduce the cost. It also pays to be patient with prices of digital apparatus coming down so quickly.
What experiences do you all have. What do you prefer: digital or traditional photography?

I don't know which I prefer they both have advantages and disadvantages, I fine with a disposable camera.

Hi James, I think the largest advantage of a digital camera is that you can edit your pics on a computer. With a program like Photoshop or Picture It you can do all sort of artistic things. For instance give the impression of a watercolor or a drawing of your picture. I think this is great fun. Also you can improve the quality of your pics easily. Theo

My main camera is a Minolta Dynax 7 35mm SLR, I shoot colour slides and B&W negs. I have a Sony camcorder which also produces some outstanding digital stills. " It ain't the size of your megapixels, it's the quality of your lens ". Eventually, I hope to purchase a Minolta digital SLR on which I can use my existing lenses and dedicated flashgun. The digital media is very convenient but I don't intend to stop using film in the foreseeable future.
