In June my walking mate and I will go to the Lakedistrict. I thought I let you in on our plans.
On day one we’ll walk up Eskdale from Brotherlikeld to Little Narrowcove. From Upper Eskdale we will scramble to the summit of Ill Crag. For the night we’ll have to find a place to pitch our tents. Probably somewhere on Great Moss.
The second day we’ll climb Scafell from Cam Spout and via Broad Crag to Scafell Pike. Down Brown Tongue to Wasdale Head. From there we will climb Lingmell via Piers Gill and back to Broad Crag again. Find a place to camp for the night.
On the next day the route goes to Great End and via Esk Pike, Bowfell, Crinkle Crags and Pike of Blisco to the National Trust campsite in Great Langdale.
Day four will lead us up Pavey Ark by Jacks Rake and then Harrison Stickle, Pike of Stickle, Rosset Pike, Bowfell, Blisco Pike and back to the NT campsite.
On day five we will go up The Band and walk the Climbers Traverse below Bowfell. Via Esk Pike and Styhead Pass to Great Gable. Here we will take the South Traverse. Probably pitch our tent on Kirk Fell.
The last day of our trip takes us to Pillar by the High Level route. Then Steeple, Red Pike and down to Wasdale Head. Via Burnmoor Tarn back tot the YH at Boot.
In six days we will walk 80 km and the total ascend will be 6,410 m. Not bad, eh
We’ve planned the route on Anquet Superscale. When I am back from my trip I will publish my photo’s on walks-by-theo.fotopic.net/. On this site I publish all my walking pics.
