Most things from SAHB to Kate Rusby but I cannot stand all this modern pop/techno stuff with a thumping bass . If I am out walking I like to listen to relaxing and melodic .

James, please speak in another words what is mcfly - i don't understand. Or it's a name? About my interests in music. At last time I'm very interesting for various dance music of 80's, such as Arabesque, Sandra and other... Old good music help me to be a full of energy every day. Also I'm very often hearing the soundtrack "The Best of Bond... James Bond". I want to talk for anybody about famous Russian singer Vladimir Visotsky (1938-1980). He wrote and sang many songs about human goodness, love, about mountain and climbers and other extreme job peoples and many another themes too. On one of his concert he spoke: "I'm very interesting to take a persons for my songs in hard life situation, on the edge...". He was with his concerts in New York, Toronto and other cities of the world. Also he was an actor and I very like the film with him and his songs "The Ballad About The Glory Knight Of Aivengo" by the story of Walter Scott. Soundtrack from this film contain follow songs: 1. The Ballad about time 2. The Ballad about freedom arrow shooters (Robin Hood shooters, I don't khow how in English) 3. The Ballad about hate 4. The Ballad about short happiness 5. The Ballad about love 6. The Ballad about battle Perhaps, it will be interesting for you.

I'm big on Green Day at the moment - anyone into them? I went to see them at Manchester a few weeks ago and they were excellent.

Hiya,
I must be of an older generation; my 'thing' is 50s & 60s with a particular interest in 50s Rock 'n' Roll & jive. I'm an active jiver & DJ. Introduced to the Lakes a year ago by a close friend, I have decided to visit twice a year at least. Using Keswick, Castlerigg & Skiddaw as a 'home' base, I'm starting to venture out bit by bit. I'd like to 'have a look at' Striding Edge soon, even if only for the photography.
I love Tony's Lakeland Cam & Sean's Striding Edge sites, Angus is a star with my friends.
Good to see you experienced walkers/climbers talking to each other.
