I am going tomorrow (friday). I am thinking of going up Helvellyn or Bow fell. I am unsure which to try and wonder if anyone had any recommendations. Even if it is after friday still post because it will be a use for any other trips.

Helvellyn and Bow Fell are both A1 fells. The classic route to Helvellyn, of course, is via Striding Edge and return via Swirral Edge and Catstycam. Try Bow Fell from Langdale via the Crinkle Crags and return along the Climbers Traverse and down the Band to Mickleden - a superb walk.
