Hi I am Dan, I live in London but spend an awful lot of time up in the Lake District, mainly around Coniston, I am a big Arthur Ransome fan and agree with him that this area is the most beautiful place on Earth!.

Hi I'm Dave. I live 100 miles away from the Lakes. I have a static outside thingyermouth and travel over at every opportunity. It is a great place to walk, relax and unwind. I am looking forward to meeting other like minded persons through this site and exchanging details of walks, photos etc. Great idea setting up this site. Cheers

Hello, my name's terry and I live in the north; couldn't resist registering and replying to post. Love lakes but don't get there enough. Now tend to go to Torver where it's quieter. Arthur Ransome's 'Rod and Line' is my 'most favouritest' book - brilliant beyond description.
Sincere regards. Terry.

Hello. I'm Joyce and I live in Canada. It's fairly level (flat actually) in my prairie province but it still has natural beauty. My husband and I have been over to the UK twice and are wanting to come back again, however it will probably be another 2 or 3 years before we get back there. Our last trip over was Sept. Oct in 2003. What a fabulous time we had, the weather was absolutely gorgeous, everyone said it was rather unusual for the time of year but no one was complaining. We spent 4 days in the Lake District and we were based in Keswick. We managed to get to the top of Skiddaw and back down in approx. 6 hours. We walked all the way from our B&B and did not cheat by starting from the car park! We thought we were in fairly good physical condition but we still felt the effects severely the next evening! I'd share a photo or two but have not checked the site out thoroughly to see if its possible. This website is a good idea. Not to mention a new way to make some friends who all appreciate the same thing.

Hello, I’m Theo and I live in probably the flattest country in the world: the Netherlands. I fell in love with Britain a long time ago. I have walked several long distance footpaths and I concentrate on the Lake District now. Because of the distance (and my family) I spent only one week a year in Britain, hoping to squeeze out an extra weekend (or two?). In June I planned another stay and hope to climb the Scafells, the Langdale Pikes, Great Gable and Pillar. (Wild)camping on the way. I envy you all for having the opportunity to go into the hills whenever you like. You are so lucky! A great idea this forum, a fine opportunity to share our adventures.

Hi I'm James Morris the creator of the site.
I'm from the villiage of Stottesdon in Shropshire. I like to travel up various shropshire hills every weekend. I used to visit the lake district for 5-6 weeks a year but I have stopped coming the frequently.

Good night (or, perhaps, good day) for all members of this forum. I'm Nickolai Stepanov from the city of Voronezh (Russia). What can I talk about me? A few time ago I was natural born workaholic and now I'm in searching for new good kind recreation and rest, such as: travelling, photographs (nature and peoples). My new hobby is making small pocket calendars with various photos. P. S. Sorry for my English, I know - it is not very well.

Hiya, I'm Terry C. known as Tel' or Tel'Star on the 50s R'n'R circuit. I'm a painter/photographer and retired art teacher, part-time DJ & drummer. I love walking, though I'm a novice at fell walking, but 'fell' in love with Keswick/Skiddaw/Castlerigg & Easdale Tarn just over a year ago. Making half-yearly visits at the moment. The photographs on some of the Lakes sites give me a real urge to venture much further, a bit at a time. Not much of a head for heights but love the views and willing to have a go at some of the places you lot seem to know well.
